Advanced Imaging
Littleton Equine Medical Center continues to stay on the front lines of medicine by investing in continuing education and updated technology to provide the clearest picture of your horse’s problem.
MRI
MRI is a more sophisticated diagnostic tool in sports medicine. It gives us the ability to look at soft tissue and bony lesions that are unseen using other imaging tools. Through the information provided by the MRI machine, more specialized and effective treatments can be determined. We are proud to have the only standing MRI machine in the region!

Ultrasound & Endoscope
Ultrasound is an effective diagnostic tool for soft tissue areas. It allows us to view tendons, ligaments, internal organs, reproductive systems, and growing fetus. This service is provided both at our hospital and in the field.
Video Endoscopy allows for investigation of the upper airway and respiratory tract, as well as the bladder, and uterus. The three-meter scope provides viewing insight of the stomach and the beginning of the small intestine. This service is provided both at our hospital and in the field.

Digital Radiology
With both digital radiography we have the opportunity to support clinical findings both in the field and at our hospital. Advanced technologies and equipment provide quality images of extremities including the neck and back, ensuring a proper diagnosis. Digital radiography has proven to be invaluable in understanding and diagnosing the intricacies of equine lameness.

Reading digital images on specialized, high resolution monitors, helps to provide a clear diagnosis.
