Dr. Whitmarsh joins us from Calgary, Alberta, Canada. She started riding horses as soon as she could walk and worked her way through several equine disciplines, including dressage and AQHA showing. However, she has spent the most time in the reining pen, competing throughout the United States and Canada. Raising Quarter horses on the family farm inspired her passion for equine medicine, where she gets to combine her love of biology with that of horses.

Dr. Whitmarsh completed her undergraduate and veterinary degrees at the University of Calgary and has a passion for foals, emergency medicine and internal medicine. Throughout her veterinary schooling, she spent time working as an assistant for a busy referral practice in Calgary.

When she is not working, she enjoys riding, yoga, reading and drawing. Dr. Whitmarsh is also the proud owner of one very special cat named Emerson, and a few very spoiled horses back at home.
