Caitlyn Higginbotham, DVM

Dr. Higginbotham first attended riding camp at 8 years old, and has been hooked since. She started showing in hunters and equitation at 13, was a part of her college IHSA team, and started showing in the jumpers during college. During vet school, she was also able to learn some western pleasure with her classmate’s horses and mules. She worked at several barns from high school to college feeding, cleaning stalls, grooming, and exercising horses.

She attended undergrad at the University of Georgia, earning her bachelor’s degree in Animal Science with a minor in Biology. She then attended UC Davis for vet school with a focus in equine medicine.

Dr. Higginbotham is most interested in emergency and sports medicine, but enjoys many aspects of equine practice. Outside of veterinary medicine, she enjoys hiking and camping with her dogs, climbing, and dancing.
