Hillary Rice, DVM, MS, DAVCS-LA

Dr. Rice comes to us from St. Paul, MN where she grew up riding and showing horses and playing on multiple sports teams. Dr. Rice received her undergraduate degree from the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, WA in 2010 where she was a collegiate softball player. After undergrad, she completed her veterinary degree at Washington State University, in Pullman, WA in 2015.

After vet school, Dr. Rice completed an internship at LEMC from 2015-2016 followed by an equine surgery residency at Ohio State University in Columbus, OH from 2016-2019. At OSU, she was trained in all aspects of equine surgery including soft tissue, orthopedic, minimally invasive and emergency surgery. Dr. Rice has a particular interest in minimally invasive laparoscopic surgery. Dr. Rice also completed a master’s degree in comparative veterinary science while at OSU.

Dr. Rice is excited to be back at LEMC as part of the emergency surgery team. In her spare time, Dr. Rice enjoys spending time with her husband, dog, cat, and two Quarter Horses exploring CO.
