Dr-Swanson

Dr. Terry Swanson, DVM

Dr. Swanson was raised on a cattle ranch 20 miles east of Chugwater, Wyoming. This was the beginning of his respect and appreciation of horses, especially the equine athlete.

Dr. Swanson has been with Littleton Equine Medical Center since 1967. He has enjoyed many phases of equine veterinary medicine including surgery and reproduction but has honed his expertise, by demand and interest, to diagnosis and management of lameness of the performance horse.  He has attained wide respect not only locally but nationally as well.

While he has never been a farrier, he maintains a devoted interest to farrier profession and appreciates the “art of shoeing” and its importance to the success of performance horses.

His most enjoyable moments are smiles on the faces of his clients when their horse has completed a job well done, being a kids horse or professional athlete.

When not busy practicing he can be found engaging in activities with his own horses, especially team roping.  He enjoys sharing time with his wife Elaine, their son Roy, his wife Betsy and the two grandchildren Quincy Rose and Waylon Gene.

“The important things in practicing veterinary medicine are the quality care of these horses and the satisfaction of the client. We try hard to do both well.”
