Vivian Quam, DVM, MA, MS, DACVS-LA

Vivian discovered her passion for horses and veterinary medicine at a young age. She grew up riding while assisting in her family’s mixed animal veterinary practice in Walnut Grove, Georgia. She completed her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2017 from the University of Georgia in Athens, Georgia with a focus in large animal medicine and surgery.

She then spent 4 years in Columbus, Ohio completing a rotating equine internship, an equine surgery residency, and a Master of Science degree in Comparative and Veterinary Medicine at the Ohio State University. At OSU, her research concentrated on the structures of the navicular apparatus including characterization of tendon progenitor cells and the potential therapeutic benefit of extracellular vesicles in inflammatory conditions of the navicular bursa.

She joined Ballarat Veterinary Practice outside of Melbourne Australia in 2021, where she practiced predominately racehorse medicine and surgery for three years including advanced imaging and lameness, soft tissue and orthopedic surgery, and emergency medicine and surgery.

Outside of work she enjoys being outdoors and spending time with her husband Mikkel, cooking, reading, and practicing yoga. They are looking forward to work and life in Colorado!
